From the centre of Torgnon, climb up to the famous col Saint-Pantaléon to continue on the watershed with the municipality of Saint-Denis. A beautiful panoramic walk will lead you to the little churches of Saint-Pantaléon and Saint-Évence .
Description
From the Frutaz square, take path number 13 to the col Saint Pantaléon. Pass the houses and continue along a wide, level path offering a beautiful view of the lower part of Torgnon. The path continues through meadows until reaching the hamlet of Ronc Dessous. Here, turn left (signpost on site) and enter the forest. The trail continues into the forest, first encountering the hamlet of Maisonnette and then reaching the pass. The walk presents no difficulty and is almost always flat.
You will then reach the charming chapel of Saint-Pantaléon.
From here, trail no. 13 continues along the ridge on a wooded moraine, thus providing a breathtaking view of Valtournenche and the Matterhorn, as well as of the prairies of Saint-Denis and the central valley in general. After a few kilometres, we reach the beautiful viewpoint of Saint-Évence dominated by the little church of the same name.

Torgnon is certainly known for its privileged location, on the right flank of the Matterhorn valley and well elevated with respect to the central valley. Its particular morphology allows, thus, to always enjoy breathtaking views and idyllic glimpses.

Saint-Pantaléon chapel
This small frescoed chapel dates back to the years 1845-1847, but there are records of an oratory predating the chapel, probably built after the plague of 1630.
It is located just below the hill of the same name, the watershed between Verrayes and Torgnon.

Saint-Évence chapel
The chapel of Saint-Évence stands on a wide plateau. After a walk in the forest, arriving at this open and panoramic spot is truly uplifting.
It is an ideal place to rest, have a picnic and admire the splendid viewpoint over nearby and distant peaks and many villages. On a clear day, you should see 36 bell towers scattered throughout the valleys and hamlets.
